오늘 소개해 드릴 구글 크롬 익스텐션 앱은 웹 페이지 스크린 샷을 자유롭게 얻을 수 있는 "Webpage Screenshot"입니다.
기본적인 기능은 여타의 스크린 샷 프로그램과 동일합니다. 현재 보이는 창을 캡쳐할 수 있고 보이지 않는 부분을 포함한 전체 웹 페이지를 스크린 캡쳐할 수도 있습니다.
그러나, Webpage Screenshot이 한가지 더 좋은 점은 현재 페이지를 수정하여 스크린을 캡쳐할 수 있다는 점입니다. 설치해 보시면 아시겠지만 위와 같은 3가지의 옵션으로 이루어져 있습니다. 물론 추가로 컴퓨터에 설치하는 것 없이 크롬 브라우저에 설치가 되므로 훨씬 편리하게 사용할 수 있습니다.

국제안전보건기관이 인정하는 자격시험을 국내에서도 응시할 수 있게 됐습니다. 안전보건공단 (KOSHA)의 산업안전보건교육원 (원장 박영수)은 영국의 국제안전보건자격 인정기관인 ‘NEBOSH(네보쉬)’와 국내에서 국제안전보건교육과 자격시험을 받을 수 있도록 하는데 합의했다고 27일 밝혔습니다.
이에 따라 교육원은 국제안전보건교육 및 시험시행기관으로 국내에서 국제안전보건자격을 취득하고자 하는 안전보건 관계자를 위해 관련 과정을 개설하고 자격시험을 실시할 수 있게 됐습니다. 교육원은 국제안전보건자격 관련하여 12일간의 이수과정으로 사고조사 (Occupational incident and accident investigation) 등 15개 과목의 이수과정 프로그램을 마련하고 공단 홈페이지 교육원 코너에서 수강신청을 받습니다. 교육은 영어와 한국어로 된 교재로 실시하고 수강생은 과정 수료 후 교육원에서 실시하는 한국어로 된 자격시험에서 100점 만점에 70점 이상을 맞으면 국제안전보건자격이 주어집니다.
교육원은 해외 사업장에 안전보건 담당자를 파견해야 하는 관련 기업이나 다국적 기업에 안전보건관계자로 채용되기를 희망하는 경우 국내에서 손쉽게 국제안전보건자격을 취득함으로써 경제적·시간적 절감효과를 얻을 것으로 기대하고 있습니다. 실제로 영국 현지에서 교육 및 자격을 취득할 경우 약 500만원이 소요되나 교육원의 교육비 및 자격취득비 지원을 통해 약 100만원대에서 교육 및 자격취득이 가능할 것으로 예상됩니다.
오늘은 태블릿용 아이디어 스케치 앱 (무료)을 소개하고자 합니다. "SyncSpace"라고 하는데 기존 스케치 앱에 없던 줌 기능, 두 손가락 기능, 복사/붙여넣기 등 추가적인 기능들이 상당히 편리하게 사용될 수 있을 것 같습니다. 무엇보다도 중요한 건 무료 앱이라는 것입니다. 물론 결과물에 대한 공유 기능은 기본이고 함께 그릴 수도 있는 협업 또한 가능하다는 것입니다.

Everyone has to start somewhere, Draw It Easy is a iPad app that takes us through 36 different drawing projects, one line at a time. The drawings are simple, yet they start the thinking of how adding and subtracting elements end up being a object we recognize. After a few hours of Draw It Easy on the iPad, we were looking for a lunch meeting where we can casually draw fun things on our napkins (fun for kids too!)… well, the places with paper napkins!
As the drawing lesson goes, it helps to use the many options of pen types and thicknesses, as well add a variety of ink colors. Draw It Easy lets experimentation throughout the steps to better understand the impact of using different tools.

오늘 소개할 구글 크롬 (Chrome) 확장 프로그램 (Extension)은 'Context Menu Search'입니다. Context Menu Search는 말 그대로 사용자가 보고 있는 그리고 현재 경험하고 있는 그 상황에 맞는 메뉴를 오른쪽 클릭으로 확장하여 검색하는 프로그램입니다.
다시 말하면 위에 보이는 이미지처럼 자신이 현재 보고 있는 웹 사이트 (웹 페이지)에서 검색하고자 하는 단어나 문장이 있을 경우에, 해당 단어나 문장을 드래그한 후 오른쪽 클릭을 합니다. 그렇게 되면 위에 보시는 것처럼 그 상황에 맞는 컨텍스트 메뉴 (Context Menu) 나타나고 미리 설정 등록된 웹사이트를 통해서 다른 창을 열지 않고 바로 검색이 가능하게 됩니다. 이렇게 함으로써 또 다른 탭이나 창을 여는 번거로움을 줄일 수 있고 휴율적인 검색이 가능하다고 생각이 됩니다. 그런데 한가지 단점이 있다면 위의 Context Menu Search 를 사용하기 위해서는 구글 크롬을 사용하셔야 한다는 것입니다. 현재로서는 구글 크롬만 지원하는 확장 프로그램이라고 합니다. Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion의 출시가 올 여름으로 다가오면서 애플에서는 개발자들에게 Mountain Lion의 Developer Preview를 공개했습니다. 물론 다운로드를 받기 위해서는 애플에 개발자로 등록이 되어 있어야 합니다 (http://developer.apple.com/).

오늘 소개해 드릴 증강현실 (Augmented Reality)은 아이패드를 기반으로 한 회사 (Company) 및 공장 (Factory) 투어 가이드입니다. 최근에 발간된 제 논문 8~9페이지에서도 언급한 것처럼 증강현실이 비즈니스에 이용이 되고 있는 사례입니다. 이러한 개념으로 도입이 된다면 안전보건 컨설팅 및 안전보건 교육 (3D) 및 콘텐츠에도 충분히 활용이 가능합니다.
라이언의 좋은 기능 중 하나가 미션 컨트롤 (Mission Control)인데요. 미션 컨트롤 애니메이션 디폴트 반응속도는 0.2초~0.25초라고 합니다. 그런데 이 반응 속도를 조금 더 빠르게 하는 방법이 있다네요. 그렇게 함으로써 맥의 전체적인 성능 속도가 빨라지는 것은 아니지만 그래도 빠르게 되니 기분은 좋네요. 터미널을 열어서 한번 해 보세요. 원상 복구도 간단합니다.

Mac OS X Lion을 사용하시는 분들이라면 다 아시다시피 라이언에서는 iCloud를 통해서 Macintosh, iPhone, iPad 등의 디바이스들과 사진, 연락처, 설정 등의 콘텐츠 공유가 와이파이상에서 실시간으로 업데이트되어 콘텐츠 사용 및 변환 등의 작업이 상당히 효과적이고 효율적이라는 생각이 듭니다.
그런데 한가지 아쉬운 점이 있다면 포토스트림 (PhotoStream)을 통해 업데이트 및 공유되는 사진들을 iPhoto나 Aperture 외에는 Mac OS X의 다른 폴더에는 다운로드 및 저장할 수 없다는 점이었습니다. 그런데 아래에 소개된 Apple Script를 활용하여 iPhoto/Aperture 가 아닌 또 다른 PhotoStream 다운로드 폴더를 Mac OS X Lion 상에 설정해 놓으면 주기적으로 원하실 때에 포토스트림 다운로드를 하실 수 있습니다 (원본 글 참조: 포토스트림 맥에 다운로드 방법). 그러기 위해서는 먼저 라이언으로 업그레이드가 돼 있으셔야 하고, 또 iCloud 설정에서 포토스트림 (PhotoStream) 체크박스를 체크해 주셔야 합니다. 그 다음 절차는 생각보다 간단합니다.
1. Apple Script 를 실행하신 후 새로운 스크립트 창을 엽니다.
2. 아래의 코드를 복사해서 붙여 넣습니다.

증강현실이 그간 전통적인 방식의 책과 교육에 대한 개념을 탈피하고 쉽게 접하고 재미있게 배울 수 있는 더욱 친근하고 효과적인 방법으로 교육 환경을 더욱 풍성하게 하고 있는 것 같습니다. 그 중 가장 익숙하게 접할 수 있는 것이 바로 증강현실을 활용한 책 (도서), Book 입니다. 그래서 오늘은 증강현실 3D 관련 어린이 책을 제작 판매하는 서비스를 소개해 드리고자 합니다. PopAR Toys가 바로 증강현실 책을 제작 판매하는 웹 서비스입니다.
PopAR Toys에서 제작 판매하는 있는 증강현실 도서는 종류가 아주 다양합니다. 일단 대상은 유치원, 초등학생이라고 볼 수 있습니다. 그래서 주제 또한 자연, 과학, 우주, 건설현장 관련 콘텐츠들이 주를 이룹니다.
증강현실 책이 아직은 그렇게 보편화된 도서가 아니어서 그런지 책의 가격이 저렴하진 않은 것 같습니다. ($20 ~ $40)
이러한 증강현실 책은 제가 일하고 있는 안전보건공단에서도 충분히 활용이 가능하다는 생각입니다. 물론 올 여름에 회사로 복귀하게 되면 증강현실을 활용한 공단 책자를 개발해 보는 것 또한 저의 목표이자 금방이라도 추진하고 싶은 생각이 많습니다. 그러나 얼마나 많은 사람들이 안전보건 관련한 증강현실 책의 필요성에 대해서 공감할 수 있을지는 미지수 이므로 제가 복귀한 후 해야 할 일이라고 생각합니다. 여기 미국에서 교육공학 석사를 공부하면서 작성한 증강현실 관련 논문이 현재 출판 진행 중이므로 그러한 실제 자료를 활용하면 많은 사람들로부터 증강현실 책자의 중요성과 활용성에 대해서 공감을 얻을 수 있을 것이라고 생각합니다.

요즘은 문서나 책들이 pdf나 ePub 형식으로 많이 보급되고 있습니다. 아마도 각종 모바일 기기들의 보급이 늘고 웹 2.0 관련 인터넷 서비스들의 기능들이 많이 향상되고 있기 때문이라고 생각합니다. 그런데 아직은 ePub 문서나 책들은 ePub 리더가 컴퓨터에 설치되어 있지 않으면 (pdf 는 요즘 브라우저에서도 볼 수가 있음) 볼 수 없는 불편함이 있었는데요. 오늘은 이러한 ePub 관련 문서나 책들을 굳이 ePub 리더를 설치하지 않고도 인터넷 브라우저 기반으로 볼 수 있는 서비스를 소개해 드리고자 합니다. (Browser-based ePub Reader)
이제 소개해 드릴 브라우저 Extension과 Add-on은 지금 현재는 구글 크롬과 파이어폭스에만 지원이 된다고 합니다. (IE, Safari 아직 지원 안됨)

기본적으로 컴퓨터에 프로그램을 설치하지 않고 브라우저 상에서 애드온을 설치한 후 해당 사이트를 통해 ePub 문서나 책들을 등록하게 되면 브라우저 상에서 ePub을 볼 수가 있습니다.

2. EPUB Reader (파이어폭스)
EPUB Reader도 MagicScroll 처럼 ePub 문서나 책을 등록하게 되면 개인 라이브러리에 등록된 책을 확인하고 읽을 수가 있습니다. 다른 점이 있다면 MagicScroll은 처음 등록할 때에만 이메일과 비번을 넣어야 한다는 것입니다.

1. 'iOptik' Contact Lenses with Augmented Reality by Innovega
iOptiks are contact lenses that enhance your normal vision by allowing you to view virtual and augmented reality images without the use of any bulky apparatus. Instead of oversized VR helmets, digital images are projected onto tiny displays in full color that sit very near to your eye. iOptik lenses enhance your normal vision within the confines of your actual eye via the contact lens, the resulting effect allows for very real immersive 3-D large screen images.
Of course it isn't just 3-D images that iOptiks can project. Innovega says that the applications for iOptiks go beyond simple movie viewing. While the micro-display can be occluded to allow for highly immersive 3-D images similar to what you would experience at the movies, it can also be used for 3-D gaming. You will even be able to utilize a "transparent display for augmented reality applications". iOptik Lens by Innovega were demonstrated at CES 2012. This contact lenses with nanotechnology that, when combined with a special set of glasses, allows one to focus close to read a heads-up display projected on the glasses, while seeing far. They can also be used for delivering full-field 3D or for 360 degree Gaming Experience.
