In the city center of Amsterdam, people were playing games using their iPhones among the shopping pedestrians. All this to hunt for virtual chocolates. The winners of this life intruding game won a trip to New York City.  The game was made as a promotion for a new Magnum ice cream.  As we were invited to check things out, we give you a glimpse of all the chocolate hunting people in the shopping streets (Negen Straatjes) in Amsterdam.

5 Easy Ways to Download YouTube Videos

This posting is about 5 Easy Ways to Download YouTube Videos. If you are someone who uses the internet on a regular basis, then there is a strong possibility that watching YouTube is a part of your daily web routine. While in most cases it is fine to stream YouTube videos in your browser, there are cases where downloading them is a more viable option.

Download YouTube Videos

1. KeepVid

Certainly one of the best websites when it comes to downloading YouTube videos and this can be attributed to its simplicity. You will have to paste the YouTube link and it will automatically detect it and grab all the contents that are associated with the link. It will then display a couple of links that will download the video based on its quality (3GP, FLV, MP4, MP3 etc.). KeepVid also works with other streaming websites like 5min, blip.tv, Break, Clipfish.de, Clipser, CollegeHumor, Current, Dailymotion, eHow, Facebook and many more.

2. SaveYouTube

This website is quite similar to KeepVid because it is also quite hassle-free to use. You will simply need to paste the YouTube link and click on Download. You will then be presented with download links with file formats. Simply click on the format that you want or select "Save As" to start downloading. What's neat about SaveYouTube is that it allows you loop any video that you want which certainly comes in handy when playing your favorite song on YouTube. You can also simply write save in front of the YouTube URL so you do not have to copy and paste the URL.

3. KeepTube

KeepTube is yet another website that is quite a breeze to use. Much like the websites that were provided previously, using KeepTube is as simple as pasting the YouTube URL into the bar and clicking the download button. Following that, you will then be presented with the files which you can download in a variety of format such as 3GP, FLV, MP4, WebM and MP3 along with the link to the original YouTube video. You can also toggle the Non-Java option for those who doesn't have Java installed.

4. SaveVid

SaveVid is a great site that contains plenty of features. Aside from the standard functionality of being able to download YouTube videos quite easily, you may also share the link as Direct, HTML and BB-Code. Upon pasting the link, you will be given several links in many different formats, including HD versions of the video. Apart from that, you can also access videos that have been recently downloaded by other users. The website supports other streaming sites like Dailymotion, Metacafe, Break, Veoh, MySpace, Blip.tv, WeGame, 5min, Game Trailers, LiveVideo.com, FaceBook, Vimeo, Funny Or Die and eHow.

5. Zamzar

Zamzar is not just your standard YouTube video downloader because it also functions as a file conversion website. Instead of providing the links instantly, Zamzar will ask for your email address where the download link will be sent. This is a great option for those who wants to download their YouTube video in a certain format, as this saves you the trouble of converting the file yourself. We've tested this site and it works rather well.

8 Free Web 2.0 Services for Creating Webpages

I have posted a couple of postings about free webpage creating Web 2.0 tools with the easy of use and great conveniences. And today I want to share some more Web 2.0 services that let you create your own webpages for free of charge with easiness and convenience.

These are previous postings I made about "Free Website Creating Web 2.0 Applications".
Creating Webpages with Flash and HTML5 at WIX: http://bit.ly/IGNTiy
Creating Webpages easily, quickly, and smartly with "PageOrama": http://bit.ly/IGNZH8

Weebly was one of the first website building tools that I played around with when I got started on my technology integration journey. It's a very intuitive and feature rich platform for creating a free website. For those reasons, it's always on my list of recommendations to teachers who want to build a classroom website.

Webs is another service that I have first-hand experience with in a school setting because a couple of my colleagues have used it for their classes. Webs has all of the characteristics that you would expect to find in a free website platform.

Yola is the tool that I used a few years ago to build websites for my department at school. Yola offers a great selection of templates and customizations. After setting up the basics of the site, my department handed it off to a student assistant who did a great job of updating it throughout the year.

If you already have a Google Account, Google Sites is already available to you. Just select it from the menu of services that you're not using. Google offers a wide variety of templates that you can use and customize on your site.

School Rack offers a free service for teachers to build and host their own classroom websites. Unlike other free website solutions that are targeted toward a general audience, School Rack has features designed specifically for teachers.

Web Node is a simple way to build a website. The easy to use, drag and drop, interface makes it easy to change the look and feel of your website.

Smore is a service for quickly creating great-looking webpages. Smore markets itself as a service for creating online flyers, but it's a little bit more than that. To me "flyer" implies that you're creating a single-use PDF and posting it online.

Check This is a service for quickly building and publishing webpages. Check This falls somewhere between having nothing on the web and a blog. Check This isn't designed to replace your favorite blog or website creation platform, rather it is designed to fill the niche for people who desire to publish a simple announcement page.
